FREE ORGAN CONCERT!
Join us for a delightful evening of organ music for the whole family, performed by Mr. Colin Howland, Director of Music and Organist at Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia.
This family-friendly concert will be spectacular! Mr. Howland will present a varied program including classic organ works by Bach and Mozart, entertaining novelties by Elmore and Nevin, as well as inspiring hymn arrangements and programmatic works. The concert will highlight the versatility of Trinity's Walker organ as well as the musicianship of the organist.
Mr. Howland grew up nearby in Lower Moreland Township. His formative musical years were spent as a student and assistant to Keith Chapman, who presided over the largest playing musical instrument in the world, the Wanamaker Grand Court Organ in Philadelphia. Colin is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and Baylor University. He also holds the Certificate in Christian Studies from Westminster Theological Seminary.
Colin was the organist (six years) at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and the director of music and organist (17 years) at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas, before returning to the Philadelphia area. His 35 years of being an organ recitalist have taken him throughout the United States and as far away as England and China. Colin is also a founding member of the Philadelphia Organ Quartet, a unique ensemble which arranges and performs music for four organs and organists!
This recital is free and open to the public. Refreshments follow the concert. Invite your friends and neighbors!
