Adult Sunday School (Winter 2018)
Every Sunday until March 3, 2019
11:15am – 12:10pm
The Whole Christ
Do you ever struggle with the assurance of your salvation? Do you find it difficult to summarize the gospel when you have an opportunity to witness to unbelievers? Are you an antinomian or a legalist or somewhere in between? How can you tell?
Some of the Church’s best theology has been formed in response to specific theological controversies. Starting December 16 and for the rest of the winter quarter, we will learn a little history lesson and wrestle with this question: If salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone and in Christ alone, what is the role of the law (or works) in the Christian life?
Join the adult Sunday School class as we watch and discuss a video series by the Rev. Dr. Sinclair Ferguson based on his book, The Whole Christ. This challenging and stimulating presentation will help you see and communicate significant issues at the core of the gospel. From the book: “Our understanding of the relationship between law and gospel determines our approach to evangelism, our pursuit of sanctification, and even our understanding of God himself”.
